With global search, you no longer have to go to the right list first. You type a name, an invoice number, an amount or a setting, and you jump straight to the right screen.
You can open it from any screen in one of these ways:
A window opens with a single search field. Press Esc to close it.
As soon as you start typing, results appear, grouped by type:
| Group | What you can search on |
|---|---|
| Actions | Starting something new, for example a new invoice, a new client or uploading an expense |
| Pages | The screens of the app, for example Expenses or Products |
| Settings | Every setting, even if you don’t know its exact name: “iban”, “logo” or “invoice number” take you to the right place |
| Clients and Suppliers | Name, email address or VAT number |
| Contacts | Name or email address of a contact person |
| Invoices, Quotes, Credit notes, … | Document number or total amount incl. VAT |
| Expenses | The supplier’s invoice number, the supplier’s name or the amount incl. VAT |
| Received via Peppol | Invoice number or sender name, even if you haven’t processed the invoice yet |
| Products | Article number or name |
| Projects | Project number or title |
| Employees (time clock) | An employee’s name, taking you to the team overview |
| Document templates | The template’s title |
Each group shows its five best results. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Type a bit more, for example the full name or a longer number.
💡 Tip: Actions, pages and settings appear right away. Clients, documents and other data are searched from two characters.
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| ↑ / ↓ | Move to the previous or next result |
| Enter | Open the result |
| Ctrl+Enter / ⌘+Enter | Open the result in a new tab |
| Esc | Close the window |
If you open search without typing anything, Recent shows what you recently opened through search, along with a few suggested actions.
Remove a recent item with the cross next to it (or with Delete when it’s selected). Clear empties the whole list.
Search follows your rights. You only find clients, documents and settings that you can also open through the menu. If you don’t have access to a module’s amounts, you can’t search that module by amount either.
The Search button, Ctrl+K and ⌘K also work in your office environment. There you can search for Companies (your clients’ files) and Users, among other things. You only find the files you have access to.
Global search is available depending on your subscription. If you don’t see the button and Ctrl+K doesn’t work, it isn’t included in your subscription. Questions? Email help@numnum.be.
